Travel & Walk Checklist
Prepare for the actual destination, route, species and travel history.
- EU: identification, a valid rabies vaccination and the correct passport or certificate. Primary rabies vaccination normally requires 21 days before travel; some origins require a titre test.
- Great Britain: check accepted documents and dog tapeworm treatment, normally 24–120 hours before arrival, with listed route exceptions.
- USA: CDC dog rules depend on the previous 6 months of travel. Dogs must be 6+ months old, microchipped and have the CDC form; high-risk routes need additional steps. Cat rules differ.
- Air travel: confirm the carrier, booking and animal restrictions with the airline. IATA guidance does not replace destination entry rules.
